Narbonne drives you nutty

Kathy wanted to see the Mediterranean on our train ride from Toulouse to Lyon, so I tried my best to find a train that would give us time to have lunch and see the beach. But the only TGV stop on the water is in Narbonne, which is misleading on a map because it turns out to be 20km by bus from the Narbonne Plage (though it has the same name). While trying to find out how to get to the water I was lead from one person to the next, some even trying to shut windows on me, but Kathy and I found the correct bus (with dogs on it) and rode it past the vineyards to "the beach". Being that it was February it was deserted, and you even had to cross this sand wall to get to see the water. I figure Nice is probably the same way in the winter but it was so odd to see all of the houses closed up. The fact that it was a ghost town made there being only one bus back to the train station (and in twenty minutes) not as diasppointing. We had some lunch across from the station and then I couldn't help but get giddy when a frustrated Kathy couldn't believe it was drizzling while the sun was out as we walked to see a huge church. That's all the fun of travelling, the crazy hassles that you have to just laugh at because no matter how much you plan something always goes wrong.
